They say the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
Momma heard it her whole life, so did Jimmie. And that's the kicker because there is really so much truth to that statement. We often spend so much time trying not to turn into our parents, that we turn into exactly them, and that's what happened to Jimmie.
In Momma's case, she was proud to be like her daddy, proud to make Jimmie just like him. In "Momma" we learn her side of things. What she endured growing up and just how sick and twisted of an upbringing it was. We learn how she did what she thought was right for Jimmie and that too was a product of her upbringing, and through it all, she justifies almost each and every step of it.
Brilliantly written we learn the depths of Momma's sickness, we learn how she viewed Jimmie's childhood, and we gain insight into why Jimmie is the way he is. "Momma" is a perfect addition to the Diary of a Serial Killer Series because it gives us the insight we are lacking from Jimmie's point of view. Lee is not afraid to put the obscene out there and twist it into a must read for fans of the series.
Momma is available for pre-order on Amazon and will release on November 2nd.
