Back Home Blues, Robert R. Randall

This was a nice change of peace read and I really enjoyed it.

Back Home Blues follows the story of Johnny Malloy, who had the love of his life, left her, only to return as broken as when he left. Johnny has hopes and dreams, but lacks the drive and follow through. Whenever he has a goal, he throws up his own roadblocks to success. Deep down he's a good man who appreciates the simple things while wanting to chase after the dreams of being a successful singer. His aunt is right, he is naive and young, juvenile as his family says, but that doesn't mean he isn't willing to change, he just needs the drive to do so. Randall told Johnny's story well, the deep desire to get out of our hometowns and make it in the wide world and the stumbling blocks along the way. Nicely done.

You can read my review on Amazon and Goodreads, and if you like it, please consider giving it a "like". Back Home Blues is available on Amazon for $5.99 and is enrolled in KU.
